Ireland’s Sandiest Beach

Barleycove Beach is a large sandy beach situated near the Mizen peninsula, directly in front of the hotel. To the north of the beach lie a number of large sand dunes. The sand dunes were created by a large tidal wave, or tsunami, that swept Europe after the earthquake in Lisbon in 1755.

Today they have been partially eroded, but like much of the coast around this area, they are protected under the European designated Special Areas of Conservation.

The beach is facilitated by a pontoon walkway, a car park, toliet facilities, lifeguards, and the all new BarleyCove Surf Camp.

Regarded as one of the country’s finest beaches, it’s a valuable assest to the area, providing locals and holiday makers alike an amenity for swimming, walking, surfing, fishing, and relaxing. A unique beach in a unique part of Ireland.

Introducing the first musical session of the summer taking place at The Barleycove Beach Hotel in West Cork. A great way to start your summer with a night that promises excellent music, Great barbequed food, and a late night of fun.

Situated on the Mizen Peninsula, overlooking the unique Barleycove Beach, The Barleycove Beach Hotel is a venue unlike any other.

On Saturday June 12th, entertainment will be provided by Cork band Manhattan Exchange, DJ Ross Curley and musician Cian McSweeney.
